Activity App – Exciting Features
As said earlier, the Activity app on your Apple Watch will track your entire health and fitness goals. It uses three rings that show your Move, Stand, and Exercise routine. The following are a few exciting features of the Activity app on the Apple Watch.
- Start with setting your goals and tracking your achievement.
- Track your History on a daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly basis in the calendar view.
- Check out your active calories and total calories.
- Not just history, it tracks your activity progress as well.
- The workout is entirely different from the exercise. Whenever your heartbeat increases, Apple Watch considers that as an exercise. In the case of a workout, you need to log in to the app and add a workout.
- You can also view your heart rate recovery charts.
Set Up Activity App
- 1. On your WatchOS, open the Activity App. You can open the same on your iPhone too. But ensure the iPhone is connected to your Apple Watch.
- 2. Now, fill out all the mandatory information like age, height, weight, gender, etc. And then click Continue.
- 3. Set your Move goal, which means the number of calories you want to burn per day.

The Three Rings
Before you proceed, know that there are three rings on the Activity app.
1. The Move ring
The move ring gives you details about the number of calories being burnt. It will be calculated automatically based on your movements.

- Open the Activity app.
- Go to rings and long press on the screen.
- Use + or – to increase or decrease the number of calories targeted.
- Tap Update.
2. The Exercise ring
With this ring, you will get to know how much exercise you have finished in a day. Exercising for about 30 minutes is all you need to finish the exercise goal.

As said earlier, your activity will be considered as exercise when your heartbeat elevates. You will get the remainder from Apple Watch every hour. Take a few steps by running, or a brisk walk will do.
3. The Stand ring

Every hour the stand ring will remind you to move your body. Whether you are standing or sitting doesn’t matter; the Apple Watch wants you to make a motion. You will see the notification once every hour.

All Activity On Apple Watch
1. Start a Workout

- Open the Workout app on the watchOS.
- Choose your best-suited workout.
- Tap the More button next to the chosen workout. select the workout if you don’t want to set a goal.
- Tap the screen to skip the countdown.
- To open another workout without ending the session, open the Workout app.
- Swipe right and tap the New button (+).
Note: Alternatively, request Siri to start a workout.
2. End Pause or Lock your Workout

- To end a workout, swipe right and then tap the End button.
- To pause a workout, you can swipe right and then tap the Pause button. Or you press the digital crown and side button simultaneously and press them again to resume.
- To lock the screen, swipe right and then tap the lock button.
3. View Progress

- Open the Activity app on watchOS.
- Swipe up on each ring to get the activity history.
- Swipe up again to see more.
- Choose the period.
You can even view this on iPhone too.
- Open the app and tap the History tab.
- The calendar will be filled with rings.
- Tap a day to get more info.
4. Change your Activity Goals
- Open the Activity app on your iPhone.
- Swipe up to change the goals.
- Tap the Plus or Minus to adjust the active calories for your daily Move goal or minutes of your Exercise goal, or hours of your Stand goal. Tap Next and finally tap OK
5. Change your Trends
With the Trend chart, you can see the daily trend on active calories, exercise minutes, etc.

- Open the Activity app on your iPhone.
- Tap Summary and swipe up to view Trends.
- Then tap See more to know how to turn around any trends.
- To view history, tap that particular trend.
6. Change Metrics for each workout

- Open the Apple Watch app on the iPhone.
- Tap My Watch >> Workout >> Workout View.
- Choose Multiple or Single Metric.
- Multiple Metric – Choose 5 metrics for each workout.
- Single Metric – Turn the digital crown to scroll all metrics.
- To add Multiple metrics, tap a workout, and choose Edit. Add or remove the metric. Or press and hold to drag and change the positions.

7. Mark Segments in your Workout
You can split the whole workout into segments.

- While working out, double-tap the Apple Watch screen.
- Let your segment summary appear.
- To view all segments:
- Open the Fitness App on your iPhone.
- Tap Workouts.
- Press the particular workout and scroll down.
8. See your Awards
- Open the Activity app on the watchOS.
- Swipe left two times. You will be able to view the Awards section.
- Scroll up to see your award.
- Tap on an award to know more about it.

- Open the Fitness app on your iPhone.
- Tap the Summary tab.
- Then scroll to see the awards at the bottom of the screen.
9. Add a Workout
- Open the Workout app on the watchOS.
- Scroll down and choose Add Workout.
- Tap the workout to add.
10. Get Reminders
The remainder totally changes based on the type of workout you choose.

- Open the Settings app on Apple Watch.
- Tap Workout.
- Then go to Start Workout remainder or
11. Control Reminders

- Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
- Select My watch >> Activity.
- Toggle the switches to enable the notifications.
- To disable the notifications, toggle the switches.
12. Turn on DnD (Do not Disturb)
- Open the Settings app on Apple Watch.
- Tap Do Not Disturb.
- Then press Workout Do Not Disturb.
13. Saving Power while working out
- Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
- Tap the My Watch tab and choose Workout.
- Turn on or off Power saving mode.
14. Checkout History
On your iPhone

- Open the Fitness App on your iPhone.
- Tap the History tab. This will give details about your All-day activity.
- A green dot will appear on the days you did your workout.
- Tap a day to see details.
- Tap the workout tab and choose any workout to know more about a workout.
On your Apple Watch

- Open the Activity App n your Apple Watch.
- Swipe up to know more details on each ring.
- Swipe up again to know more. It includes total steps, your distance, and workouts.
- Tap and hold on to the screen. Click on Weekly Summary to get the weekly summary.
15. Suspend daily Coaching
- Launch the Apple Watch App on the iPhone.
- Go to the My Watch section.
- Choose Activity and then turn off Daily Coaching.

16. Workouts tracking
- Open the Workout app.
- Select an activity like running, cycling, swimming, or dancing.
- Choose calorie, time, distance, steps, etc.
- Rotate the digital crown to set the number.
- Tap Start when you are beginning.
- Once done, tap stop or end by long press on the screen.
- You can also pause the workout in between.
17. Share your Activity with Apple Watch
Add or Remove a Friend
- Open Activity App on Apple Watch.
- Swipe left and turn the digital crown to go to go to the bottom of the screen.
- Tap on Invite a friend >> choose a friend.
- Tap a friend and choose to remove.
After the friend accepts the invitation, you can enjoy sharing stuff with your friends.
Check your Friend’s Progress
- Open Activity App on Apple Watch.
- Swipe left, turn the digital crown to go through your friends’ list.
- Tap a friend’s name to see their status.
Compete with your Friends
Compete 7 days and earn up to 4200 points.
- Open Activity App on Apple Watch.
- Swipe left to choose a friend and tap compete.
- Select Invite and the competition begins once your friend accepts the invitation.
Change your Friend’s Settings
- Open the Fitness app on your iPhone.
- Tap Sharing >> choose a Friend.
- Mute Notifications.
- Hide your Activity.
- Remove the friend.
