Check your Current Software Version

 Launch the Samsung Galaxy Wearable app on the smartphone.
 Open the Account and Backup app on your wearable app.
 Click the Backup and restore option and then select Backup Settings.
 This option will display a list of things for backup and restoration. Choose the items for backup
 Click Select All to back up everything and hit the Back up now button.

You can update the latest version of software through the smartphone or on the wearable itself.
Update Samsung Galaxy Watch using Android Phone
 Launch the Samsung Galaxy Wearable app on your phone that is already paired or linked with your watch.
 Click on the Home tab located on the lower left side and then go to Watch Software Update.
 Look at the latest version of the software available and click the Download and install button.
 Tap on Install Now again to confirm the action from the Update watch software screen. Keep your phone and the watch in close proximity until the installation finishes.
 If your Watch shows you the “Your software is up to date“, then click on OK.
[IMPORTANT NOTE: If you want to download the newly released updates automatically, then turn on the Auto-Download over WiFi feature. It helps you to install the latest software automatically over a WiFi network. Make sure your phone is connected to a stable WiFi connection to proceed with this Auto-download action.
How to Update Samsung Watch using iOS Phone
 Through your connected iOS phone, make sure you’ve downloaded the Galaxy Wearable app.
 Open the Samsung Watch app on your device.
 Tap on the About Watch from the Home tab.
 Click on the Software Information.
 If you see the availability of a software update, tap on the Install button.

How to Update Samsung Galaxy Watch
 Press the Home button to open the apps on your watch screen.
 Hover to the Settings app on the Galaxy Watch Home screen.
 Select the General category in the Settings.
 Hit the Update Watch Software section.
 Tap on the Checkmark icon to accept the prompt message about updates.
 Click on the Download on the latest update, and then after a few minutes, click on OK to finish.

If it is set up as a standalone or if your watch has not been active for a long period of time, then it may malfunction while updating new software.
