Soft Reset Vizio Smart TV

The steps to soft reset Vizio TV is as follows.

Step 1: Turn off your Vizio TV and remove the plug from the power socket.

Step 2: Allow the TV to stay idle without power for about 30 seconds. Now, connect it to the power and turn on the Vizio TV.

Hard Reset Vizio Smart TV

Vizio smart TV’s are running on SmartCast orVizio Internet Apps and Vizio Internet App Plus. So hard resetting process differs slightly.

On Vizio Internet App Plus

Step 1: Press the Menu button on the Vizio TV remote.

Step 2: Go to the Settings option and then choose the System settings.

Step 4: Scroll and select the Reset and Admin option.

Step 5: Choose the Reset TV to factory defaults option.

Step 6: If you have your own parental code, enter it. Or else, enter 0000 as parental code.

Step 7: Again, choose Reset and press OK on your remote.

Step 8: Now, your Vizio TV will be reset to its factory settings automatically.

After reset, go through the initial setup process and start using the TV.

On Vizio Internet Apps

If your Vizio TV has Vizion Internet Apps or VIA, then the reset procedure is as follows.

Step 1: On the Vizio TV remote, press the Menu button.

Step 2: Choose Help on the menu screen.

Step 3: Click on the Clear Memory (Factory Default) option.

Step 4: Provide the Passcode when prompted. The default passcode is 0000.

Other Ways!

If you have Vizio Smartcast TVs, you can also reset the television by

  • Press and hold the input & Volume down button on the TV for about 10-15 seconds.
  • A notification will pop-up on the screen.
  • Press and hold the input button to reset the TV.
